Mountain Pasture Trek to Gams and Edelweiß

The spa town of Aflenz is the starting point for this hike, which firstly takes you to the Bürgeralm. A double chair lift also goes up the mountain. When you reach the top, turn towards the 1,920 metre high Mitteralpe and enjoy a 360 degree panoramic view. Here on the Hochschwab, is Europe's largest population of chamois. So, be nice and quiet and you're certain to get a look at one or two animals. The Alpine flowers are also particularly impressive here. Look out for wolf's bane, Edelweiss, Alpine pinks and different types of gentian.
