Ausseerland-Salzkammergut
Bad Mitterndorf in Ausseerland-Salzkammergut lies in a high valley between Grimming and the Tote Gebirge (Dead Mountains). The foothills of the Dachstein Massif provide karstic springs with crystal-clear drinking water, but the moorlands, too, together with the thermal spas and the healthy climate, create the basis for a renowned spa town. Hiking, Nordic walking, running and cycling as well as the many landscapes and cultural highlights of the Salzkammergut are the main features of summer tourism. However, its strengths also lie outside the unspoilt landscape in the friendly inns.
