Raab Valley Cycling Trail

You ride along the Raab in Eastern Styria; also lovingly known as the garden of Austria. The starting point is in the formidable quiet of the Raab's source in the Almenland. The ride leads through the gentle hills of Eastern Styria, adorned with vines and apples, to the peaceful tranquillity of Styrian Spa Country and southern Burgenland. Where else can you experience the varied cultivated landscape of Eastern Styria more enjoyably and peacefully? It is also true of these river cycling trails along the three "Styrian Greats" that less effort is more. It is not so much about sport as pleasure. For the eyes as well as the taste buds.

Along the Raab Valley Cycling Trail, numerous events invite you to discover the culinary specialities of the region. And the landlords on the Raab Valley Cycling Trail know exactly how they can help you: with your need for food and drink as well as with small bike faults. In addition, pumpkin seed oil mills seduce you with tasting opportunities, as do Styrian inns and wine taverns with genuine specialities.

Along the bike ride you will see such notable attractions as Gsellmanns World Machine, a Bridge Museum and the Zotter Chocolate Factory, which are all worth a visit. Numerous large and small cycling trails cross the Raab Valley Cycling Trail and invite you to explore Eastern Styria more.

Throughout the entire Raab Valley Cycling Trail climbs are very rare and all quite easily-manageable. Leisure is what defines all three main river cycling trails in the Green Heart of Austria!
