From glacier to wine cycling trail

From Schladming to to Styrian Wine and Spa Country! The start in the beautiful town of Schladming at the foot of the Dachstein with its glacier, which can also be appreciated by skiers and snowboarders even in the summer, promises you a fantastic day. It leads through the Enns and Mur valleys along the great river cycling trails of the same names via Graz to Wine Country on the Styrian-Slovenian border. In approximately one week it is possible to travel in this way from the mighty Dachstein to the hot thermal springs in the south of Styria, the surrounding area of which is primarily famous for its excellent wine. It is thus possible to get to know Styria's countryside in all its facets on this cycling trail.

The trail not only leads through the enchanting landscape and romantic towns, but also shows all aspects of Styria's countryside and seasons. In spring the start, which is in the north, is still surrounded by snow-covered mountain peaks. You will be accompanied along the way by the first lush meadows in the valleys and finally greeted by the soft green of the maize fields in the south. In summer, on the other hand, you are accompanied by the lush green mountain pastures surrounding the Dachstein and the Schladminger Tauern on your way to the blossoming vineyards in the south. In autumn it is harvest time in Styria - whether it is Ennstaler Styrian cheese from the mountain pastures, the golden-red pumpkins or the renowned Styrian wine - it is time to taste the regional produce.
